Bombay Sapphire Gin Distillery Tour
Bombay Sapphire Gin is award-winning. Every drop of this gin that is distributed across the globe is distilled here deep in the Hampshire countryside alongside the crystal-clear River Test.
The distillery is based at Laverstoke Mill about 15 miles from Winchester and is steeped in history. There has been a mill on the site since 903AD and it gets a mention in the Domesday Book commissioned by William the Conqueror in 1086.
Prior to the distilling of Gin, the Mill was used for over 225 years to produce the banknote paper for the Bank of England and the countries of the Empire.
The visual centrepiece to the distillery are two large intertwining glasshouses constructed from over 700 individual pieces of glass. They contain botanicals and butterflies and are a joy to explore
Today you can visit and learn about the production of this special spirit. You can absorb the scents of the ten botanicals which are used in its production, you can take a guided tour of the Still House and watch its production through Victorian Stills. Once you’ve observed the process you can take the opportunity to visit the Botanical Dry House and discover your own personal blend of herbs and spices to create your own gin cocktail.
The trip is not complete without a visit to the relaxing bar to sample one of the many bespoke cocktails that are crafted for you by experts and of course there is the chance to visit the on-site shop to purchase a variety of items.
There are a multitude of different experiences available to book in advance from a Masterclass in Cocktail creation, Horticultural tours through to VIP behind the scenes tours.
