Royal Navy Submarine Museum
Discover what it was like to be a submariner thousands of feet below the sea in Britain’s only surviving WW2 submarine. Marvel at how little room the men had and how they managed to pack and cram so much into such a small space.
A tour of the submarine is delivered by an experienced submariner who will lead you through the torpedo rooms, galley and engine room.
Take a look through the periscope at the Portsmouth Harbour, imagine firing the torpedoes!
The interactive gallery will test your ability to keep a submarine on an even keel.
View the Royal Navy’s first submarine Holland1 and X24 a midget submarine.
New for 2018 is the “Secret and Silent” exhibition which marks the anniversary of Polaris the nuclear deterrent. View one of only nine impressive missiles.
This tour can be combined with different aspects of the Historic Naval Dockyard
tour or visited separately, whatever suits you best.
